Anna Harley Bush Waters

Anna Harley Bush Waters, 80, of New Cut Road, Inman, SC passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Rosecrest Retirement Community in Inman.

Anna Harley was born in Inman, October 1, 1942, a daughter of the late Frank Bush Sr. who was a native of Inman and Harley Bush who was a native of Orangeburg, SC.  She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis Harris “Buck” Waters, after a loving marriage of 58 years.  In 1995, Buck and Anna moved to Inman and into Anna’s parents’ home on Bush Farms back to where it all began 5 generations ago.

She is survived by a daughter, Cindy Waters Shultz, her husband, Sterling of Waynesboro, PA, and Cindy's children, Rachel Stegmeier  of Charlottesville, VA and Anna Stegmeier of Harrisonburg, VA, a son, Lewis Harris Waters, Jr, his wife, LoriAnn, of Potomac Falls, VA and their children, Ansley Waters Davies and her husband Daniel of Alexandria, VA, Grace Waters of Arlington, VA and Laurel Waters of Potomac Falls, VA, and a brother, Frank Bush Jr and his wife Frankie, and their children, Allison Pederson and her husband Brad, of Hartsville, SC and Harley Carpenter of Columbia, SC, and a devoted cousin, Dateria Johnson of Inman.

She graduated with a BS degree from Limestone College, in 1964 and later received a Master’s degree from Marymount University.  Anna was a lifelong educator teaching biology and chemistry in public schools for many years before retiring from Riverside High School in Greer, SC.

She was an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Inman.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Shiloh Memorial Cemetery in Inman. The family will greet friends at 10:30 AM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to charity of one's choice.
