Alonzo "Al" Merritt Burns, JR

Alonzo "Al" Merritt Burns, JR, 63, of 7001 Wiggins Road Green Pond, S.C, passed away Sunday, October 20th.
Al was born in Atlanta, Ga. on January 26, 1950, a son of the late LaRue O'Dillon and Alonzo Merritt Burns, Sr. He was the husband of Barbara Jean Whitmore Burns of the home.
He was retired from Mannington Mills in Salem, NJ. He had served during the Vietnam era in the U.S. Army, and received his undergraduate and master's degree from the University of Florida. He was an avid Florida Gators fan as well as an avid outdoorsman.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lisa Yaggie, of Inman; Jessica Burns, of Boiling Springs; two sons Greg Burns, of Pittsburgh, PA; Chris Burns, of Boiling Springs; a sister, Janice Dunning, of Carey, NC; two brothers, Andrew "Andy" Burns, of Bremen, GA, Danny Burns of Isle of Palms, S.C., and his grandchildren: Lindsey Burrell, Dillon Burrell, Whit Burns, Liam Burns, Harley Burns, Bryant Burns, Lukas Burns, and Noah Burns. He was predeceased by a brother, Larry Burns.
The family will receive friends October 24th, Thursday 6:00-8:00 at the home of his daughter, Lisa Yaggie at 929 Lansfair Drive in Cumberland Walk, Inman.
