Allen Gibson Settle, III
Allen Gibson Settle, III, 31, of 139 Ave D, New York, NY, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at his home. Allen was born in Spartanburg, SC on August 30, 1983, a son of Patricia Ann (Thorne) Settle and Allen Gibson Settle, Jr, of Inman. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Advent and was a graduate of the Greenville Technical School Honors Program where he helped create a model United Nations Program and attended Columbia University in New York where he was vice president of the student body of the School of General Studies. In addition to his parents Allen is survived by a sister, Summer Settle of Blacksburg, VA and his maternal grandmother, Juanita H. Williams of Inman. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, January 16, 2015 at 4:00 PM at the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Spartanburg, SC conducted by Rev J. Edward Morris. The family is at the home of his parents at 125 East Main Street, Inman and will receive friends Friday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the James F Byrnes High School Relay for Life or the Foundation for AIDS Research.
