Alice Faye Mathis

Alice Faye Shelton Mathis, 73, of 3709 Clark Road, Boiling Springs, SC, a native of Inman, SC, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Lakewood Senior Living. Alice was born in Spartanburg, SC on November 20, 1950, a daughter of the late Martha Virginia (Weathers) Shelton and Emmett Glenn "Skinny" Shelton. She was the widow of Burnise Newton Mathis. 

Alice was employed at S & S Mfg from 1970 to 1982 and was then employed at Noah's Ark Daycare. She was a faithful member of Lake Cooley Baptist Church where she was the head of the food bank and also helped in the daycare.

Alice is survived by a daughter, Wendy Mathis (Jason), of Campobello, SC; a son, Brian Mathis (Kristi), of Woodruff, SC; a brother, Ricky Shelton (Beth), of Lyman, SC, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Linda Mathis of Cowpens, SC and 4 grandchildren, Carson Fisher, Ethan Fisher, Mason Mathis and Ryder Mathis.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 31st at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, SC. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 31st at Seawright Funeral Chapel with Rev. Randy Lewis officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman, SC. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Carson Fisher, Ethan Fisher, Mason Mathis, Ryder Mathis, Ronnie Mathis and Chris Mathis.
