Alice Ramsey Helms

Alice Ramsey Helms, 79, wife of the late JB Helms, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2021. Alice was born on October 10, 1942 in Anson County, NC, the elder of two daughters born to the late Jimmy Dee and Laura Hyatt Ramsey. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Appalachian State Teachers College (now known as Appalachian State University) in Boone, NC. After graduation she taught Business Education at Sun Valley High School in Monroe, NC, and Anson Technical Institute in Ansonville, NC.
Upon relocating with her family to Spartanburg, SC, she devoted her time and talents to being a full-time wife and mother. She was a very active member of Second Presbyterian in which she was involved and dedicated to many aspects of the Church. Her greatest joys were loving and nurturing both her family and the Church.
She is survived by her two beloved sons Noel Dee Helms and his wife Dori Helms of Spartanburg, and Clay Matthew Helms of Spartanburg, and her two adored grandchildren Nathan Mitchell Helms and Isabel Frances Helms of Spartanburg, SC. Also surviving is her devoted sister, Martha Ramsey Eddins of Camden, SC.
A private graveside service will be held at the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Spartanburg, SC.
