Alice Roberta Burns

Inman, SC---Alice Roberta Burns, 84, of 2425 Holly Springs Road, Inman, SC passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 peacefully in her sleep at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice House.  Alice was born in Centre, Alabama on June 28, 1933, daughter of the late Mr. Charles Alphus and Vivian (Elam) Millbrooks.  Mrs. Burns attended Auburn University where she received a BS Degree in Early Childhood Education.  She taught school for about 5 years and then became a full time mother and homemaker.  She was a dear loving and sweet person.  She loved laughing and having fun.  She enjoyed friends, family and playing Bridge.  She is survived by her husband of 63 years, George Robert "Bob" Burns, daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and John Durham both of the home, son and daughter-in-law, Charles Burns and Pam of Florida and son and daughter-in-law, Robert Burns and Valarie of California.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Chaz Burns, Lindsey Morgan, Lauren Burns, McKenna Burns, Max Burns, Preston Durham, Cameron Morris and Brandon Durham and six great grandchildren, Bo Burns, Emma Burns, Reece Burns, Audrey Morris, Emory Morris and Peyton Durham.   A Memorial service will be held in the Seawright Funeral Chapel on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 3:00 PM with Dr. Paul Moore officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Alzheimer's Association of South Carolina, 4124 Clemson Blvd. Suite L, Anderson, SC  29621.  The family is at the home of John and Nancy, 2425 Holly Springs Road, Inman, SC.
