Alfred Leon " Chick " Upton

Alfred Leon "Chick" Upton, 86, of 414 Wedgewood Drive, Spartanburg, SC, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Alfred was born in Spartanburg, SC on November 8, 1938, a son of the late Carie Geneive (Wykel) Upton and Bryant Howard Upton.

Alfred is survived by a sister, Eudora Gonzalez (Johnny), of Las Vegas, NV; and one brother, John A Upton, of Gaffney, SC. He was predeceased by two brothers, Frank L. and Harold E. Upton.

Chick was a dedicated caregiver for his mother, Geneive during her declining health. 

He worked as a security guard and served in the U.S. Navy. 

A memorial service will be held at Seawright Funeral Home, on February 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Brian Tillotson officiating.
