Albert S. Anderson, 82, passed away, Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at the Smith Phayer Hospice House in Landrum. Born in Miller Run, PA on September 21,1926, he was the son of the late Albert S. Anderson, Sr. and Lydia (Manges) Anderson and the husband of Marcine (Sunderman) Anderson. He was an active member of Inman United Methodist Church and had retired from the Operating Engineers Local # 324 in Michigan. He served his country in the US Navy in WW II. He was also a member of the Plymouth Masonic Lodge # 47 in Plymouth, Michigan, a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner, member of the Detroit Shrine Club, National Campers and Hikers Association and Past Pres. of the FEZ On Wheels Club,the Michigan Travel Trailer Club and the N.C.T. Club.
Surviving in addition to his wife Marcine is a son, David Anderson and his wife Debbie, three daughters, Janice Bodenheimer and her husband Dave, Cathy Stokes and her husband John, Sandy Cieslinski and her husband Mike, a sister Betty Jane Philpot and her husband Vance, and a brother Bob Anderson and his wife Ann. The 10 grandchildren are: Annette, Damian, Curt, Jeff, Mark, Carrie, Adam, Ryan, Michael and Tucker. There are also 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Anderson was predeceased by his first wife, Lil Anderson, a grandson, Matthew S. Anderson a brother, Joe Anderson and sisters, Leona McKay, Bertha Price and Ruth Bangert.
Visitation will be held at Seawright Funeral Home on Thursday, September 10, 2009 from 5-7PM. The funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation in the Seawright Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Ron Leonard. The family will be at their respective homes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Smith Phayer Hospice House, 260 Fairwinds Rd., Landrum, SC 29356 or to Inman United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 726, Inman, SC 29349. The family would like to thank the staff of the Smith Phayer Hospice House and Interim Hospice for their loving care.
